About Couple Relationships
Relationships – both marriages and partnerships – are more likely to improve by accessing the independent and skilled services of a couple’s therapist.
Research tells us that on average couples delay 5-6 years from the time they realize their relationship has significant problems to the time they commence therapy.
That’s a long time to needlessly suffer.
In arranging an appointment for couples therapy, for marrieds or partners, you can learn to manage the problems in your relationship instead of the problems managing you.
Couples generally come to counselling because they sense a deadlock has occurred in their relationship that is preventing them from forging deeper bonds of understanding, trust, connection and intimacy.
Perhaps external stressors such as work & parenting are eating into the intimacy that you had once enjoyed as a couple. Or maybe over time you each have changed and are now discovering that new adjustments are needed in your relationship.
In couples counselling, I assist each partner to express their feelings and needs through creating an open dialogue. This new understanding can give you both the confidence and skills to rebuild previous and much longed for connection.
Together we can develop practical strategies to manage new challenges to your relationship.

Confused about the future of a marriage
Sometimes when hope and strength has faded, couples become confused about whether they want to continue their relationship. Discernment counselling can help to work through this complex decision and build greater co-operation in their future, especially when ongoing team work is still needed such as parenting their children.
