Tips for maintaining healthy couple relationships

  1. Establishing routines and rituals keep us connected in a busy world that pulls us apart; eg: regular date nights; weekend leisure activities; eating meals together; do weekend chores together.
  2. Seek first to understand your partner -instead of demanding your partner understand you first
  3. During tense conversations, notice what makes sense about your partner’s position – instead of focusing on what you disagree with.
  4. Put your partner 1st – ahead of career, children, parents , friends, hobbies
  5. Give your partner the red carpet treatment – never stop wooing one another. This avoids taking one another for granted
  6. If feeling stuck in a rut, enroll in a couple’s relationship course, read books and watch you tube clips about relationships.
  7. See a well trained couples therapist if one partner (or both) feels unhappy in relationship.
